Tanloden is an ag export company located near Melbourne, Australia. Tanloden specializes in exporting Oaten Hay and other types of compressed hay and straw to customers in the Pacific Rim. They contracted with Headwaters to implement a new inventory system for their operation. Tanloden's main office is located more than a hundred miles from their production facility, and the owners frequently travel overseas, so a web application was the natural choice to allow everyone to view and edit the same data from multiple locations. Headwaters created a custom web application that allows them to enter deliveries of raw product, booking information, shipments of compressed bales, and other adjustments to inventory. The program tracks inventory and the amounts contributed by each farmer they contract with. They have several user roles that allow access to different information. The production facility staff are limited to entering inventory adjustments (deliveries and shipments) and cannot view inventory, pricing, or production reports. Main office staff enters all bookings and has access to all of the reporting features. The owners can check on the status of their operation from anywhere in the world and get up-to-the-minute numbers.

Headwaters has created numerous Access-based export programs. The online version we made for Tanloden has been such a success that we're encouraging all of our customers to upgrade to the web-based version. The web application requires no software and can run from any web browser on any computer connected to the internet.
